Instructor for an annual 8 week workshop to a group of 6 young ladies, ages 9-17. Each week we learned techniques such as hand sewing, how to operate a sewing machine, bleaching denim, styling, etc. The students then showcased their work at a fashion show benefiting the HALO Foundation.

West 18th Street Fashion Show ‘Wild Summer’
Accessories Designer for I AM Brockstar

Presented the label’s 6th collection, ArkhiMODiste, in a seven week fashion exhibition at The Box Gallery in Downtown KC. A runway show was presented opening night on September 11, 2015. The 9 look collection was created using handmade and digital print textiles designed by Whitney Manney, inspired by themes of utility, modification and the culture of the unknown worker.  A 29’ x 10’ walll weaving props, large scale digital prints and decals were also created to complete the ArkhiMODiste exhibition.

WHITNEYMANNEY Presents PrimaRebelle                                   

Presented the label’s 5th collection, PrimaRebelle, in a two week fashion exhibition at UMKC Gallery of Art. A runway show was presented opening night on October 23rd, 2014. The 15 look collection was created using handmade and digital print textiles designed by Whitney Manney, inspired by the ideas of royalty, respect and rebellion. Furniture, props and large scale paintings were also created to complete the PrimaRebelle exhibition.  


Contemporary Reflections: Brown v. Board of Education
After Sixty Years  

Exhibition featuring 20 African American artists at the Mulvane Art Museum, Washburn University in Topeka, KS. A installation entitled, Back To School, is on display in the gallery. The piece features 13 digital print/hand dyed backpacks that represent each family that was involved in the Brown v. Board case. The textile designs feature a motif that was a key element in the cultural milestone.

In collaboration with Lauren Snedden and Sarah Jones of Bazaar Pastiche, a editorial fashion film for the ‘Xeno|irideSupreme’ collection was filmed in Kansas City to bring new imagery to the collection. Link:

Fall 2013                                                                
Presented the label’s Spring/Summer ’14 collection entitled ‘Xeno|irideSupreme’ on October 3,2013 at Union Station. Comprised of 15 looks, the collection was inspired by the ideals that inspired the Space Age. A short film and documentary for the collection was created in collaboration with Lauren Snedden and Sarah Jones to promote and have a permanent editorial piece for the collection.

Saint Louis Fashion Week: Style In the Loop
Presented 7 looks of the main Spring/Summer ’14 collection and 3 additional looks on September 29, 2013 at an outdoor show in the Delmar Loop.

Aquafina x Project Runway Design Challenge                         
Submitted fashion illustrations that embodied the qualities of Aquafina water and my aesthetic into a nationwide search looking for designers to compete in a special Project Runway design challenge. Illustration entitled, 'I Am Pure Rhythm' made it to the top eight and finished in sixth place.

Curated, exhibited and sold recent works along with five other Kansas City artists that cater to the city's wearable needs at a newly formed pop-up shop collective in Westport on November 17, 2012.

Brown Shoe Company Presents:Project:Design!                         
Competed in nationwide search scouting emerging designers to show at St.Louis Fashion Week. Worked rigorously with Rock Uniform PR Team to develop brand image and worked in collaboration with the GM Design Team to create a Chevy inspired look. Presented part two of the label’s Fall 2012 ready-to-wear collection entitled ‘Chroma Flux’ at the Project:Design! show during St. Louis Fashion Week on October 9, 2012 at St. Louis Science Center Exploradome. Comprised of 10 looks, the collection’s garments and textile designs were inspired by American sportswear and Chicago.

Presented the label’s Fall 2012 ready-to-wear collection entitled ‘Chroma Flux’ at Kansas City Fashion Week on September 8, 2012 at The Gallery in the Power and Light District. Comprised of 9 looks, the collection’s garments and textile designs are inspired by American sportswear and Chicago.

 Wardrobe Designer, A Good Match                                        
In collaboration with the art director of the film and short film director Lyn Elliot, wardrobe for each character of ‘A Good Match’ was pulled and on set of filming each day. Responsible for researching, assisting with visual character development and purchasing clothing for the shoot prior to filming and for dressing the actors daily and supervision of the cast’s wardrobe on set.
